March Break Camp

Every March Break your Y offers a fun week filled with crafts, outdoor play, games and active play time in the gym. Your kids will enjoy a variety of fun, interactive and co-operative activities each day. Activities vary based on the interests of the children, and may include sports, arts and crafts, drama and outdoor activities.

Ages: 4 – 12 years  Camp Hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (programmed time begins at 9:00 AM) *No late pick up available*

March Break Camp 2017 Special Events & Themes:

Monday: Swim to Survive (see below); Lego Theme Day

Tuesday: *Specialty Day - Swim to Survive; trip to Galaxy Cinemas to see a movie

Wednesday: *Specialty Day - Swim to Survive; Glendale Farms Sleigh / Wagon Ride (weather dependent)

Thursday: Emergency Services Day - visit to the Fire Department; Subway Day (optional: $4 per child)

Friday: Tobogganing and/or Outdoor Fun at Harrison Park (please bring a sled); bus leaves the Y at 9:15 AM sharp

  • Children ages 6+ must be able to pass the swim test in order to swim during the camp day. 
    Children under 6 will not be swimming and alternate programming is planned for them during swim time. 
     
  • Campers ages 6 and up can participate in the Lifesaving Society’s Swim to Survive program
    Swim to Survive teaches essentials needed to survive an unexpected fall into deep water, an important first step to being safe around water.  Skills include: roll into deep water, treading water for 1 minute, and swimming 50m.
