Job Description:

The County of Bruce is currently seeking a qualified applicant for the Part Time position of Registered Nurse at the Brucelea Haven LTC Home in Walkerton, ON.  The successful candidate will supervise the direct care given to residents in our state of the art facility, which includes electronic documentation system.  Candidates are required to be registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and be reasonably available for all shifts including weekends and call-ins.  Our ideal candidate has good computer skills, excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of the Long Term Care Health Act and an interest in Gerontological Nursing.  Certification in Phlebotomy, Wound Care and Gentle Persuasive Approach are considered assets.

Minimum Requirements / Work Experience:

Job Requirements: • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario • Availability on a reasonable basis for all three shifts, weekend work and call-ins • Computer skills: Familiarity using PointClickCare is an asset as is knowledge and experience with the MDS/RAI • strong leadership • Experience administering medication • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills • Ability to work interdependently • Knowledge and experience with the Long Term Care Homes Act
