Customer Retention Specialists require one to two years experience in sales, customer service, collections or account management. Duties include selling leases and managing customer accounts. You maximize store revenues by administrating accounts and managing collection activities. This includes managing account receivables, over due accounts and write-off percentages so they meet company standards. KEY RESULTS AREAS • Maintain account receivables • Maintain store write offs • Manage customer payment schedules • Maintain low pick-up to delivery ratio JOB SPECIFICATIONS QUALIFICATIONS • Secondary School Diploma preferred • Valid driver’s license without restrictions • Clean driver’s abstract and clear background check • Prior collections experience with negotiation or customer relations experience preferred • Strong computer skills • Familiarity with financial documents and good math skills ATTRIBUTES & COMPETENCIES • Excellent customer service and salesmanship skills • Customer focused with a desire to build enduring relationships with customers • Calm and focused under stressful situations • Empathetic, with the ability to maintain harmonious relationships • Able to "actively" listen to, and understand customer concerns • Excellent phone manner • Outstanding conflict resolution, problem solving and negotiation ability • Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, discretion and sound judgment • Strong organizational skills in order to balance workload and set priorities • WORKING CONDITIONS • Climate-controlled retail facility • Open six days a week and evenings • Varying shifts mid-week and generally Sundays off • Frequent phone calls to existing and potential customers • Must comply with company dress code • Local travel, involving visits to customers’ homes • Assist with the lifting and moving of furniture and the unpacking and set up products in the showroom • Sitting/standing in front of a computer, and prolonged keyboarding ***Customer Retention Specialists must have at least five years of driving experience and for insurance purposes must be 25 years of age and older, a valid driver’s license and provide a clean driving abstract at the time of the interview.***
