Summary of position

The Press Operator prepares and operates the Cut & Crease presses, working to produce a good make ready that will ensure smooth running orders and a high quality product at a good rate of production.  Performance is based on willingness to assist and cooperate, efficiency, quality of work, attendance, punctuality and attention to safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and operate press ensuring product produced meets quality standards
  • Report tooling maintenance to the Supervisor.
  • Record all make-ready and running time on the SAP system.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of machinery and notify Supervisor of any issues.
  • Responsible for all quality checks according to work instructions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key qualifications

Experience and Education (diploma, degree, or professional designation):

Minimum high school diploma.

Minimum 3 to 4 years previous press operation experience is required preferably within the printing/packaging industry.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Mechanically inclined, good eye/hand coordination.
  • Attention to detail and excellent quality standards
  • Perform well under pressure, excellent organizational skills, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
  • Advanced skills in learning new technology, excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
