Field Services – Construction Inspection and Materials Testing

(Full Time and Contract opportunities)

Location: Owen Sound, Ontario

GM BluePlan Engineering is a dynamic consulting firm providing experience and expertise in the areas of Infrastructure Master Plans, Asset Management, Environmental Assessments, Hydraulic and Hydrologic Modelling, with proven Municipal, Environmental, Structural, Land Development and Construction Services that allow GM BluePlan to support our clients throughout the project life cycle. Responsibilities:

  • Assist with completion of topographical surveys and construction layouts of underground services, roads and grading;
  • Assist with Materials Testing;
  • Preparation of survey notes, grade sheets and calculations for construction layout;
  • Operate and set up survey equipment including levels, Total Stations, GPS etc.;
  • Inspect and maintain survey equipment;
  • Perform Inspection duties in accordance with the industry regulations;
  • Inspection and documentation of contractor’s work for conformance with the approved construction documents;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Civil Engineering Technology graduate. Eligible for or obtained OACETT designation an asset;
  • Working knowledge of laser / optical levels, total stations and GPS survey equipment;
  • Possess strong organizational, oral, written communication, and problem solving skills; have an approachable enthusiastic interpersonal style;
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, to meet contractor hours and project deadlines;
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence.
