CNC Programmer / Operator

Job Description:

 

Speke Klein is a family-owned manufacturer of high quality modern wood furniture and custom wood products. We design and fabricate our own collection of furniture items such as dining and coffee tables, seating, and case goods that are used in homes and corporate environments, as well as producing custom furniture and wood parts for the design industry. With over twenty years in business, our company name has become synonymous with high quality wood manufacturing both in Ontario and amongst top-tier interior designers and architects in North America. 

We are seeking a CNC Programmer/Operator to join our team.

Full-time: Mon – Fri, 8-4:30, Schedule can be flexible if required.  Small, personal working environment

Responsibilities include:

  • Reading technical drawings 
  • Setting up machine in relation to drawings
  • Programming computer software to create cutting paths and select appropriate tooling
  • Running tests to ensure that programming is correct and up to expected quality standards and design specifications
  • Troubleshooting problems with programming and machine operation
  • Scheduling tools for sharpening as required
  • Cleaning of machining and work area on a regular basis
  • Assisting in other areas of the production cycle when required including breakout and milling of wood, laying up of veneer, etc.

Minimum Requirements / Work Experience:

Qualifications and Job Requirements: • At least 2 years experience running a CNC router in a wood manufacturing setting is an asset • Experience using WoodWop and working with Homag or Weeke machines is an asset • Experience using 5-axis machine an asset • Positive and professional attitude • Clear communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English • Attention to detail is essential • Familiarity with reading and interpreting technical drawings • Strong math skills • Ability to troubleshoot

Other Job Requirements:

• Ability to work independently and closely follow directions • Ability to work together in a small, close-knit team • Capable of standing for extended periods of time • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds for short periods of time. Safety shoes required. All other safety equipment supplied.
