Congratulations and best wishes to Owen Sound Aquatics Club’s (OSAC) Meghan Calhoun who has been selected to join a small Team Canada 🇨🇦 contingent heading to Berlin, Germany on June 11 for the last stop on this season’s World Para Swimming World Series taking place June 17-20.
Meghan’s primary purpose for the trip is her International Classification process – which if successful – will give her future access and opportunities to International Team selections representing Team Canada. She will swim the 200bk and 100br on Day 1 of the competition and return immediately due to Covid protocols; unfortunately, bypassing her signature event the 100 butterfly.Â
The season finale in the German capital has already become a World Series tradition being part of the competition calendar since the inaugural season in 2017. The swimming pool at the Schwimm-und Sprunghalle in the Europasportpark (SSE) is considered one of the fastest in the world.
It has been exciting to watch Megan train at our Y pool! We are so proud of you, GO MEGHAN GO! 🙌
