Community Justice Worker

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver alternative justice services to youth and/or adults referred to the program(s) from across Grey & Bruce
  • Develop and facilitate workshops to youth and adults
  • Match, place and monitor clients required to complete community service with non- profit community organizations
  • Liaise with other justice sector agencies and community partners
  • Respond professionally to challenging situations
  • Conduct outreach to local organizations, stakeholders and community groups
  • Utilize technology to provide services virtually

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Social Services or related discipline plus related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience creating content and delivering workshops
  • Demonstrated knowledge of alternative justice and the justice system
  • Excellent communication / organization skills, comfortable with public speaking
  • Detail oriented with high expectations ensuring quality service provision and documentation
  • Works independently with minimal supervision and is disciplined in setting priorities and outcomes
  • Minimum Class G Driver’s License; able to travel throughout Grey and Bruce Counties; must have own vehicle
  • Successful candidates age eighteen (18) and older will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Police Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued no later than 90 days preceding start date.
