Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment and training of participants to help solve the skills shortage in specific workforce sector.
  • Proactively outreach to employers to identify employment opportunities, matching of employers’ skill needs and participants’ capabilities interests.
  • Work with employers to create work placements that support participants’ access to employment; negotiate placement details, monitor progress through on-site visits.
  • Support referral and access to school, education and training programs and services
  • Conduct outreach to local employers, employer networks and community groups
  • Utilize technology to provide services virtually when needed

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business, Social Services or related discipline plus related experience.
  • Familiar with government employment programs
  • Excellent communication / organization skills
  • Detail oriented with high expectations ensuring quality service provision  and documentation
  • Understanding of the local labour market.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision and is disciplined in setting priorities and outcomes
  • Minimum Class G Driver’s License; able to travel throughout Grey and Bruce Counties; must have own vehicle
  • Successful candidates age eighteen (18) and older will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Police Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued no later than 90 days preceding start date.
