Job Description:

                                                         The Corporation of the County of Bruce

                                                  requires a

                                                         Temporary Part-time Library Clerk

The Bruce County Public Library is currently seeking qualified applicants for the temporary part-time position of Library Clerk to work in the Tobermory Branch. This position will provide coverage on a temporary part time basis for the Summer from May 25, 2021 to October 9, 2021. The current schedule is outlined below; evenings and weekends will be required. 

Scheduled hours of work (may be subject to change) are:

            Tuesday                       12:45 pm – 4:45 pm

            Saturday                      9:45 am – 3:15 pm

            Sunday                        12:15 pm – 4:45 pm

This position will include circulation of materials, collection maintenance, information services and reader’s advisory. This position may include programming for babies, school-age children and young adults.

The successful candidate will report to the Branch Supervisor.

Tobermory

Minimum Requirements / Work Experience:

• Must have completed grade 12 education, as a minimum • Superior interpersonal, communication and organization skills • Excellent computer skills and experience working in a computerized environment • Strong ability to successfully multitask in a busy environment • Experience planning, promoting and running programs for all age groups and for large groups • Ability to work independently while successfully promoting the mandate of the Library • Strong customer service background •

Other Job Requirements:

Assets: • Experience working in a public library • Experience working with the Dewey Decimal Classification system • Registration in the Library (SOLS) EXCEL program • Current First Aid/CPR certification

Education Required:

OSSD
