Where do campers sleep?

Campers sleep in a cabin with up to 10 other cabin mates of the same age. Two staff also sleep in the cabin with them to provide overnight supervision.

Are there bathrooms in the cabins?

No, there are no bathrooms in our cabins. There are shared bathrooms near the cabins that campers will have access to, as well as bathrooms in our main dining hall.

Do campers get to pick their own activities at camp or move as a cabin group?

Campers get to choose their daily activities each morning. Campers can sign up with friends or move around independently.

What if my camper has a dietary requirement?

We can accommodate most dietary needs for campers and are focused on providing high-quality well-balanced meals while they are at camp. Please indicate on the registration form if your camper has any dietary needs. Our camp is nut free and we try to avoid common allergens. Dietary needs such as vegetarians, gluten free and lactose free are common diets that we manage for campers. If you have questions, please contact us at presquile@osgb.ymca.ca

Do campers get snacks throughout the day?

We do not provide snacks throughout the day except before bed. Campers are provided with a variety of options during meals, and we do our best to ensure that campers receive enough food throughout the day.

How can I communicate with my Camper while they are at camp?

There are a few different ways you can communicate with your camper.

  1. You can pre-write letters and drop them off at the beginning of camp to be delivered
  2. You can send them a letter the old-fashioned way using Canada Post
  3. You can use our one-way email system Bunk1. You will receive information about how to access this in our emails before the start of your camper’s session.
Will you post photos during camp sessions?

We do not post photos while campers are at camp. We post photos from each session a few days after the session has ended.

Will camp call me to give me an update about my camper?

At camp, our top priority is creating a supportive and nurturing environment for our campers. Because of this, we do not have the time to call and provide each family with an update. If you have concerns, you can send an email, and we will do our best to give you a brief update. No news is good news when it comes to camping, if we need to be in touch for any reason, we will reach out to you.

What should my camper pack?

Please reference our packing list to find out what to pack for camp.

Are there any pets at Camp Presqu’ile?

Yes. At Camp Presqu’ile, campers and staff are fortunate to have a friendly camp dog who calls the site home. She is well-trained, fully vaccinated, and accustomed to being around children, which helps ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. Whether she’s greeting campers with a wagging tail or joining in on the fun, her presence adds a special touch of warmth and joy to the camp atmosphere.
