Community Swim Programs
Our YMCA supports local athletes and community groups like the Owen Sound & Area Special Olympics and Owen Sound Aquatics Club.
These partnerships provide vital opportunities for athletes to practice, grow their skills, and be part of a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Swim to Survive
Swim to Survive and Swim to Survive+ programs, in partnership with Lifesaving Society, help Grade 3 and Grade 7 students develop essential water safety skills and confidence. This life-saving initiative aims to equip children and youth with the knowledge and techniques to respond safely in an emergency.
Through partnerships with schools across Grey Bruce, students learn from certified instructors in a safe, supportive environment. The program combines hands-on swimming instruction with practical, real-life water safety skills, giving students the confidence to respond in emergency situations.
If your class or school would like to learn more, contact our Aquatics Department at aquatics@osgb.ymca.ca or 519-376-0484 ext. 216
