GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT
The Reservation Agent is responsible for assisting in efficiently performing the daily operations for the Chi-Cheemaun ferry, operating between Tobermory and Manitoulin Island.
We seek to fill twelve (12) seasonal reservation agent positions. The positions will have various start dates from March onwards and are required to staff the reservation centre, in person, from March until the end of October. The positions will vary in duration, from up to nine (9) months to four (4) and two (2) month positions which are open to University/College and High School students and are designed to accommodate student schedules. Starting in May, the reservation centre – located in Springmount – will be open 7 days per week. These positions are open to all applicants. For student applicants, please indicate your availability for starting full-time hours and weekends.
In this role, you will respond to telephone calls and email messages from travelers seeking assistance with booking travel on our ferry operating between Tobermory and Manitoulin Island. You will assist customers in making reservations as well as cancelling and modifying existing reservations. You will also handle various tasks as needed, such as helping with admin work, supporting team projects, providing extra customer service and other duties as assigned. Ideal candidates are friendly, efficient, computer literate and enjoy understanding customer needs and ensuring they are met.

Qualifications, Experience and Abilities
- Technology oriented; accurate data entry; comfortable learning new applications.
- Above average verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or GED required for Seasonal position. High School students may apply for Summer Seasonal positions.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English. A second language is preferred.
- Must have good hand-eye coordination and the ability to type on a computer keyboard.
- Two or more years of successful performance in customer service in a telephone-based environment as well as in person is preferred.
