Summer students are vital to increasing the mental health and addiction awareness and resiliency of our local community. Summer students will gain experience in a variety of programs and services offered by the Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce. Duties and responsibilities include:
- Administrative assistance including supporting our file retention project
- Assisting with the creation and facilitation of awareness presentations
- Assisting at community awareness and fundraising events
- Assisting with social recreation and rehabilitation groups and activities
- Assisting with our community garden program and Fresh Roots Café
Summer students will be involved both in the community as well as behind the scenes to fully understand what is involved in working for a not for profit. Students will gain experience in finance, quality improvement, social enterprise, community engagement, social recreation and rehabilitation as well as mental health awareness and education.
Hours of work are 37.50 per week. The normal workday is 8 hours, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Evening and weekends will be required to assist at community events.
