Job Description
BVO is now accepting resumes for a EarlyON Facilitator/Kids Club After School Program Staff (this is a combined position)
The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to:
EarlyON:
- Implement interactive programs for parents/caregivers and their children up to 6 years of age indoors and outdoors
- Role modeling play based learning
- Provide information and referrals
- Statistical reporting, newsletter, monthly calendar, Facebook page management
Kids Club After School Program:
- Supporting After School Program at Beaver Valley Community School, indoors and outdoors according to CCEYA (Child Care and Early Years Act)
- Role modeling play based learning
Qualifications:
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE); Child & Youth; Recreation & Leisure or Primary Education Degree
- BVO is willing to financially support the appropriate candidate to acquire RECE qualification provided the individual has already taken some of the required courses
- Current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
- Current First Aid Certificate, WHMIS, AODA, Food Handlers training and Health & Safety (BVO willing to train)
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Enthusiastic; supportive, encouraging, resourceful and creative
- Organized and efficient
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- An understanding of “How Does Learning Happen” and ELECT document
- Previous experience working with young children and parents and asset
Wages and Incentives:
- 30 – 35 hours per week (EarlyON – 15 hrs/week; Kids Club – 15 hrs/week)
- Starting Wages: $23.05 – $25.00 per hour
