SALARY RANGE: $110,272 – $130,810

The Manager, Facilities Planning and Development is responsible for leadership, planning, managing, and execution of all construction and infrastructure initiatives within Brightshores Health System. This includes overseeing capital renovation projects, master planning, infrastructure upgrades, and compliance with applicable codes and standards. The role focuses on ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational priorities.

This role requires effective collaboration with all levels of management and staff and internal and external stakeholders to develop strategies and manage projects from conception through implementation. This position emphasizes adherence to applicable codes, standards and organizational guidelines to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:

Required

  • A university degree or college diploma in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-10 years of progressive management experience in construction or project management, preferably in healthcare.
  • Proven leadership in project management processes and resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, AutoCAD, and related software.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and accessibility standards.
  • Certification of Infection Control During Construction, Renovation and Maintenance of Health Care Facilities.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
  • Process improvement certifications, i.e., Green/Black Belt in LEAN and/or Six Sigma.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and related project management tools.
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records.
  • Ability to be flexible in hours worked, including some work after hours and on weekends, and travel as required.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities.
  • Solid understanding of change management concepts and processes, demonstrated change management success.
  • Understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including knowledge of management responsibilities for health and safety compliance under the legislation.
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to think critically and logically to evaluate situations.
  • Proficient in strategic planning, problem-solving, and risk mitigation.
  • Proficient in setting priorities, developing work schedules, monitoring progress towards goals and tracking details/data/information/activities.
  • Proficient at budgeting and monitoring project costs.
  • Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes.
  • Ability to positively influence others and work successfully with a broad range of stakeholders to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization.
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record

Welcome to Brightshores Health System. We operate six hospitals in the Grey Bruce region. Our mission is to build healthier communities one patient at a time. We have 1,900 dedicated and compassionate staff and over 150 physicians who work together delivering excellent patient care to residents and visitors across Grey Bruce.

Our Regional Hospital in Owen Sound is the largest of our sites, and offers a full range of specialty services, including complex surgeries, total joint replacements, cancer surgeries, MRI and CT diagnostic services. Across the six hospitals, we have more than 100,000 patient visits per year.
