Our client, a well-established medical practice, is currently looking for a Part-Time Administrator to assist at their busy Owen Sound, ON location. The selected candidate will be responsible for a variety of basic administrative, customer service, and reception tasks. This is a contract role that could potentially turn into a permanent long-term fit for the right candidate. Weekdays only starting at $18 – 20 per hour based on experience.

About The Role
The Part-Time Administrator role is a forward-facing position that assists with a variety of administrative and reception tasks. Working with both internal and external clients, the administrator role is vital to the day-to-day operation of the clinic. Duties include full management of the reception desk, booking patients appointments, performing follow-ups regarding testing, and liaising with other staff and physicians. In addition to delivering a high level of customer service, this position is also responsible for a variety of day-to-day administrative tasks. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Providing Superior Support to Patients, Physicians, Contractors & Internal Staff
- Booking Patient Appointments According to Physician Direction
- Providing Excellent Interpersonal Communications with Internal & External Stakeholders
- Managing & Routing Incoming Calls, Emails, Mail, Couriers & Walk-ins
- Notifying Patients Regarding Outside Appointments with Specialists or Imaging
- Ensuring Outgoing Faxes are Sent Successfully & Resending Where Necessary
- Attending Occasional Staff Meetings to Review Procedures & Provide Feedback
- Other Tasks as Assigned
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have experience working in a medical office or administrative setting. They must have strong customer service skills, excellent communication skills, superior attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Some Post-Secondary Education in Medical Admin (or Related Field) preferred
- Computer Literate with Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience Using EMR or Scheduling Software Considered an Asset
- Excellent Communication Skills & Attention to Detail
- Highly Organized & Able to Prioritize Workload in a Busy Work Environment
- Demonstrate High Level of Tact & Confidentiality
- Ability to Work as Part of a Team & Independently
- Must Be Able to Pass Criminal Background Check
