Seasonal Enforcement Officer will conduct foot patrols of assigned areas ensuring compliance with the municipality’s by-laws.  Please reference the YMCA Job Board when you apply.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct patrols throughout the municipality to assess parking and enforce parking by-law infractions proactively,
• Patrolling beaches, ensuring all applicable by-laws are being followed,
• Engage in awareness and education discussions with the public to achieve compliance with parking regulations and other municipal by-laws,
• Patrolling ATV trails and checking riders for licenses, trail passes and sobriety,
• Assist By-Law Enforcement Officers with investigations and gathering evidence

This position would be great for those currently in, or just graduated from Community Justice or Police Foundations programs, giving you experience in building community connections, de-escalation tactics, issuing Provincial Offence Notices, learning to deal with other authorities such as Ontario Provincial Police, Parks Canada and other Bylaw officers.

Education and Experience

• Strong customer service skills
• Proficient in English communication

• Diploma in Police Foundations or related discipline is an asset  (Security Training may be provided for the right candidates)
• By-lingual or multi-lingual an asset

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age
• Clean criminal background check
• Must be legal to work in Canada
• Have G2/G class drivers license
• Must be able to provide a clean drivers history, for company vehicle insurance
• Own or have access to vehicle
• Be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
