Our client, a certified provider of senior and special needs care, is currently looking for a Full-Time Support Worker to assist with their busy Owen Sound, ON based practice. The selected candidate will primarily support clients in the Eugenia or Sauble Beach areas and will have proven experience providing care needs for clients with behavioural autism of varied ages. This is a Full-Time permanent position starting at $21 – 23 per hour based on experience.

About The Role
The Support Worker will provide care to special needs patients in either the Eugenia or Sauble Beach area. Care responsibilities may include paid overnights and cooking/cleaning responsibilities. Experience working with patients who self-harm or have aggressive OCD tendencies preferred. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Providing Superior Support to Patients, Families, Contractors & Internal Staff
- Performing Both Day & Overnight Sleep Shifts
- Preparing Meals & Assisting Clients with Feeding Care as Needed
- Providing Excellent Interpersonal Communications with Clients & Stakeholders
- Performing Necessary Housekeeping to Maintain a Cleanly Living Space
- Assisting Clients with Daily Tasks Including Driving & Shopping (On-Site Car Available)
- Ensuring Medication Schedule & Other Daily Health Requirements are Properly Managed
- Providing Updates to Family & Physicians Regarding Changes in Client Health or Well-Being
- Attending Occasional Staff Meetings to Review Procedures & Provide Feedback
- Other Tasks as Assigned
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have at least 5+ year’s experience working as a PSW, DSW, or similar experience supporting vulnerable individuals in a community setting. They must have excellent communication abilities, critical thinking skills, and a strong sense of both patience and empathy. Other qualifications include:
- Must Possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must Possess Valid & Current First Aid & CPR Training
- Computer Literate with Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Must Possess a Current & Valid Driver’s License
- Must Pass Criminal Background & Vulnerable Sector Checks
- Able to Demonstrate High Level of Tact & Confidentiality
- Ability to Work as Part of a Team & Independently
