Job Description

The Water Treatment Plant is seeking to add to their team. Reporting to the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor, the Water Treatment Plant Operator or Operator in Training (OIT) would work alongside Operators. In this role, you would find yourself assisting with water connections and repairs, assist in sampling and testing, documenting, inventory and completing training as assigned and required.

Qualifications

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Water and/or Water Distribution Operator Licences OR Operator in Training OR ability to achieve OIT within specified time
  • Experience in building construction/maintenance or related role
  • Experience or proven knowledge and understanding of First Nation communities
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of water treatment plants and infrastructure
  • Understanding of Health and Safety and legislation as it pertains to Water Treatment
  • Effective written and communication skills for documentation and customer service
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and access to reliable vehicle
  • Recent acceptable Criminal Record Check

Equivalencies that include a combination of education and experience may be considered
